overrun errors cause network port adapter disconnection

A data recorder of our company needs to be used with a network adapter, which can transmit measurement data to the server(the simple topology of monitoring is shown below)

The parameters given say that this network port adapter supports only 10M duplex or half duplex mode.
One of our clients had previously installed our data acquisition system(with software and sensor hardware) using a star network topology. When you buy more equipment, expand the installation and replace the star-shaped network to a ring network, and since then, there are cases of recorder disconnection. When you type the IP address of the network port adapter into your browser, there are a large number of errors(see figure), and you can get more if you click Refresh once. The adapter should have a mechanism or a maximum tolerance(I'm not sure what) beyond which it will break. This is the first time we've had this kind of problem. The system has been around for over a decade.

Since we can be sure that our equipment is OK(because it ran for a long time without changing the network structure before), the customer insists that their network is OK, that it is constructed by professional network personnel, and that the collected server is OK(that is, a computer installed with windows server 2012). At present, I am confused about where the problem might come from. Since I am not very familiar with the Internet, I would like to ask.
Current thinking: 1, the switch used by the customer on the loop is mainly Huawei S5720S-12TP-LI-AC, one of our team's technology insists that the switch problem is that our equipment performance is not so good, should not use Huawei such a good switch, replaced by the most common good, but this reason do not convince the customer, I think there is no basis, So replacing the switch is a solution?
2, switch configuration, suspected that the speed of the switch is too fast and does not match our adapter, but the current switch can self-negotiation? Normal shouldn't be a problem?
3, the construction of the ring road network is not in place, there may be network problems, such as the two-layer loop?
